BPI certified professionals are specialists in their chosen field(s).
By attaining your certification, you demonstrate your knowledge
and skills are among the best in the country – capable of
diagnosing critical performance factors in a home that impact
comfort, health, safety, durability and energy efficiency.
The following courses are offered by Oregon Energy Coordinators Association on a regular basis. Please check http://www.warmandsafenow.com for the latest course schedule.

Building Analyst Professional

This five day course will train you to go beyond a traditional energy
audit to perform comprehensive, whole-home assessments, identify
problems at the root cause and prescribe and prioritize solutions
based on building science. This course provides fundamental
concepts related to building science principals, air leakage testing,
and performance based energy auditing. It also provides hands-on
training in the field with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including
the blower door, and duct blaster.

 Envelope Professional

In this four day course students learn to quantify performance and
prescribe improvements to make the building envelope (shell) more
efficient, increasing insulation levels, stop uncontrolled air leakage,
optimize comfort, durability and HV/AC performance. Students
who attend this course will learn how to, create a thermal boundary
around a building, properties & installation techniques of various
types of insulation, how to use vapor retarders effectively, basic home
air tightness testing, and duct testing & sealing techniques on both
site-built and manufactured (mobile) homes.

Heating Professional

This five day course teaches participants how to optimize the performance of heating equipment to help save energy and ensure occupant comfort, health and safety. Participants will learn how to use diagnostic tools such as the blower door,
duct blaster and pressure pan to locate duct leakage. They will learn to use a
combustion analyzer to test combustion appliances to assure proper operation and efficiency.
